Animation is a display of a series of images which can be 2-D or 3D and they are placed in positions to create the illusion of movement. The effect is a optical illusion which can appear as movement of a character or object.
An example of a great early animator is Walt Disney the creater and film producer of famous characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
